In 2011, the Academy of Classical Design was formed as the Fine Arts chapter of The Classical Design Foundation to support its mission in the preservation and practice of traditional art.  Its Director, D. Jeffrey Mims, is acknowledged internationally for his easel and public mural paintings. Classical America has awarded Mims for "excellence and integrity in the application of classical ideals” and the success of his students is a tribute to these values.
